Bob is a published author of numerous articles in healthcare industry and trade journals. In addition, he serves as an Advisory Board member for Physician Practice Journal magazine and the Institute of Health Administration, J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University in Atlanta. He is a founding board member of the Georgia Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers and current board member and an investor in The Myer Group, and also serves as the United Representative to the Combined Operations Center Association in Inveraray, Scotland.
Prior to joining HealthAmerica Realty Group, Bob co-founded and served as Executive Vice President of Surgicoe, an out-patient ambulatory surgery center (ASC) management company that was acquired by United Surgical Partners, Inc. In 1982 Bob was also co-founder of Gates, Moore & Company, a national physician practice management company. As President, Bob established client relationships with more than 2,000 healthcare providers that included national hospital systems, insurance carriers, medical specialties and numerous single and multi-specialty physician groups
Bob attended Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance, and a Masters degree of Business Administration. He was Captain in the Infantry and Military Intelligence Branches of the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam, as well as a tour in Taiwan and Okinawa.
